Dr Ekaterina Stepanova

lead researcher; head, Peace and Conflict Studies Unit, Institute of the World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow

Research focus: the study of armed conflicts, terrorism, other types of armed violence, political economy of conflicts, peacebuilding, and violent networks

Dr Stepanova is the author of six books, including Terrorism in Asymmetrical Conflict: Ideological and Structural Aspects (Oxford University Press, 2008). She serves on board of SSCI journals Terrorism and Political Violence and The International Journal of Conflicts and Violence and on the expert panel of Global Peace Index. She lectures in English at European University in Saint Petersburg and at European Peace University (Austria). » Read more
